EFT Relationship to the Pain Body - Release Blame and Powerlessness

Tapping into Body Relationship: A Journey from Powerlessness to Empowerment

Hi, I'm Elynn Light, Integrative Healer, and I have a couple of certifications using this tool, EFT, tapping. I've used it on money, emotional eating, and even when I've been stuck in moving. Today, we're delving into using tapping for our relationship to our bodies. If you suffer from chronic pain, you might find yourself in conflict with your body, seeing it as the enemy. I'm here to guide you through a process of reconnecting with your body in a positive way.

The Anguish of Chronic Pain

People with chronic pain often express anger towards their bodies. There's a sense of betrayal, a feeling that the body is working against them. My journey led me to a place of listening, understanding, and showing compassion to my body. If you're struggling with these negative thoughts, I aim to support you. Before we begin, please view any prior videos to familiarize yourself with the tapping points.

Tapping Technique Explored

Starting with the karate chop point on the side of the hand, we acknowledge the pain: "My body is always hurting." We then transition to affirmations: "Even though my body is hurting me, I totally love and accept myself." The goal is to bring up feelings of blame so we can release them. Addressing Blame and Powerlessness

Blaming our bodies is a common defense mechanism. Tapping on meridian endpoints, we confront these negative feelings head-on: "My body is the problem." This can lead to deeper introspection. The feeling of powerlessness is a significant part of chronic pain. It's essential to delve into this emotion, tap, breathe, and release.

Revisiting Past Traumas

Sometimes, our current feelings mirror traumas from our past. Old emotions, perhaps from moments when we felt vulnerable or victimized, might resurface. Tapping provides an opportunity to acknowledge these feelings, sense them, and then release them.

The Emotional Spectrum

A range of emotions can be linked to chronic pain, from apathy and grief to fear and anger. Individuals often get trapped in feelings of hopelessness and powerlessness. By acknowledging and addressing these emotions, we can begin the healing process.

Reframing the Relationship with Our Body

It's crucial to transition from viewing the body as an adversary to seeing it as an ally. If we harbor feelings of victimization from past experiences, it can deepen the divide between us and our bodies. Instead, we should strive to understand that our body's pain is a message, a plea for attention and care. Bring your compassion and curiosity to the body as you listen...and ask your body, Is there something you want to show or tell me?

Embracing the Power of Presence

In my extensive training, I've learned that being present is the most potent tool for healing. While intellectual understanding and various techniques can be helpful, true healing begins when we fully immerse ourselves in our bodies, listening to their messages.

Let's end with a positive tapping sequence, reinforcing our readiness to embrace health, support our bodies, and be open to possibilities. Remember, the essence of healing lies in being present in the body, looking, listening, and feeling.
We shift the language from releasing the negative emotions and thoughts to being open to change. Using words that say what you are ready to experience next.
Through tapping combined with MAP, we can expedite the process of releasing trapped emotions and fostering a healthier relationship with our bodies. Here's to a brighter, more harmonious connection with our bodies. See you soon!
